The exciting, fast-paced city of Toronto offers a wide variety of festivals, exhibits, shows and more. The city offers many interesting activities – especially in the warmer months – and The One of a Kind Spring Show is no exception. This is a can't-miss attraction for any city-goer or tourist, especially those interested in supporting local vendors through the purchase of handmade goods.

The Spring One of a Kind Show is being held at the Direct Energy Centre at Exhibition Place between March 26th and 30th, 2014. Incredibly easy to get to, it can be quickly reached via both TTC and GOTransit and is near the intersection of Lakeshore Boulevard West and Bathurst Street.



The One of a Kind Show was founded in 1975 and since then has become a cherished tradition for both Torontonians and the many who travel from outside the city. It is an unofficial landmark of Canadian shopping for the over 200,000 visitors that are attracted each year.


Tickets to the show can be purchased online or at the door – the former option includes a 15% discount on adult admission! Tickets are free for kids (aged 12 and under), $12 for adults, $7 for seniors and $7 for youth (aged 13 to 17). If you can get a group of 20 or more together, admission is only $10 per head. Gift certificates valued at $25, $50 and $100 are available as well as reusable shopping bags for only a toonie.



The One of a Kind Show is home to stunning works by more than 450 talented artisans. The show's 'Day in the Country Competition' will ask each vendor to craft a piece that reflects a chosen theme using their medium of choice. Voted for by visitors, the winners will be awarded prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place.

The Thunderbird Marketplace, which is sponsored by Miziwe Bilk, will feature stunning works from 12 Aboriginal vendors. This includes beading, leather work, textiles, jewellery, porcupine quill work, basketry, clothing design, accessories, corn husk work, leather work and more.

The show will also feature a Craft Community of Canada section, as well as an area for Etsy creators to share their work. On Thursday, March 27th, the Late Night Shopping event will see the hours extended until 11pm. Participate and listen out for the hourly draws for gift certificates. There will be free parking after 5pm.
