Toronto Restaurants Opening in 2014

Pai is a brand new Thai restaurant that will be opening on Duncan Street. This eatery is being established by Nuit and Jeff Regular, the geniuses behind Khao San Road (who they recently severed ties with), Sabai Sabai and Sukhothai - a few of the city's most popular Thai locations. Pai plans to bring the complex flavours and dishes unique to Northern Thailand to Toronto.

Apiecalypse Now!

Mentioned in our Guide to Vegan Bakeries, Apiecalypse Now! offers an incredible range of baked goods that are 100% free of animal cruelty. They've been successfully selling their goods at city farmer's markets for a number of years and 2014 will see the opening of the bakery's very first retail storefront. It is set to be located on Markham Street – stop by for a treat that won't leave you feeling guilty!

Barsa Taberna

Toronto Restaurants Opening in 2014 

Barsa Taberna is set to be Market Street's newest addition in early 2014. Located in the heart of downtown, across from St. Lawrence Market, this Barcelona-inspired restaurant will offer an incredible menu of Spanish tapas and small plates. It will be run by talented chef Michael Smith (who worked previously at the Gladstone Hotel), who plans to devise brunch, lunch, dinner and late-night menus.

Red Sauce

If you love Italian food, Red Sauce is going to be the spot for you. Replacing Acadia on Clinton Street, this restaurant is going to take on a more casual look and feel than its predecessor. Though the ownership is not changing, the menu certainly is – it will feature affordable drinks and dishes like chicken and eggplant parmesan, mini calzones and sandwiches. Coming soon, customers are going to love the Red Sauce's unique take on this classic cuisine.

Toronto restaurants reflect the wonderful diversity of the city and the year's new eateries are no exception. From Thai cuisine to Spanish tapas, Italian sandwiches and vegan baked goods, Pai, Red Sauce, Apiecalypse Now! and Barsa Taberna are must-visit locations opening soon.
