Luminato Festival Lights up The City Skies

by Kristen 4th June 2014

Since 2007, Toronto's Luminato festival has been celebrating the world of creativity. From June 6th to 15th, the best artists will come together to show off their most oustanding work.

Making the city their stage, this exciting event will showcase music, theatre, dance, visual arts, literature and film, at many venues around the city.

“The Luminato Hub,” the heart of the festival, will be found at David Pecaut Square on 55 John Street. It will be dressed up with a grand festival stage, 2 Luminato lounges, 4 box offices and information booths.

The hub will be transformed into an innovative cardboard city beach (yes, you read that right) and will host many of the festival's free and ticketed events (see the Luminato website for the full schedule). It will be open every day from noon until 12am.

To purchase your Luminato festival tickets please call the Luminato Box Office at 416-368-4TIX(4849). They accept TTY calls from all Relay Service Providers. The festival will be accessible to people with disabilities.

“Luminato embraces the very diversity that is the beating heart of Toronto and is living testimony that creativity is best nourished where cultures come together in a spirit of common humanity and citizenship.” – David Pecaut (2009)
