Mr. Hyde Potion

Start Your Halloween Off Right With These 5 Creepy Cocktails 

HGTV's Mr. Hyde Potion combines a delightful range of flavours with a spooky appearance. 

Ingredients

  • Vodka (8 oz.)

  • Parfait amour liqueur (4 oz.)

  • Blackberry liqueur (1 oz.)

  • Tarragon simple syrup (2 oz.)

  • Fresh lemon juice (1 oz.)

  • Lavender syrup (1 oz.)

  • Lavender sprigs

  • Blackberries

  • Dry ice (optional)

Directions

  • Fill a cocktail shaker with ice.

  • Add vodka, liqueurs, syrups and lemon juice; shake until liquid is cold. Distribute equally into laboratory beakers.

  • If desired, garnish with dry ice and blackberries strung onto sprigs of lavender. Do not consume until dry ice is completely dissolved. Serves 4.

Brew Ha-Ha Punch

A punch fit for a brouhaha, Brew Ha-Ha Punch from My Recipes is a delicious, non-alcoholic option for serving a room full of guests, adults and kids alike. For added effect, toss in some eyeball ice cubes or frozen "body parts"! 

Ingredients

  • Lime drink powder (2 packages, each 0.13 oz.)

  • Sugar (2 cups)

  • Water (8 cups)

  • Pineapple juice (6 cups)

  • Ginger ale (4 cups)

  • Dry ice (optional)

  • Cauldron (optional)

Directions

  • Pour water and sugar into large punch bowl; stir until fully dissolved.

  • Add pineapple juice, lime drink powder and ginger ale. Mix well.

  • Chill and serve. For added effect, serve in a black cauldron over dry ice. Do not consume until dry ice is completely dissolved.

Bloody Orange Cocktail

Another HGTV creation, the addition of a syringe filled with raspberry syrup makes this cocktail both chilling and interactive - memorable to say the least!

Ingredients

  • Vodka (1/2 cup)

  • Licor 43 (2 oz.)

  • Orangina (1 cup)

  • Fresh raspberries (1 cup)

  • Sugar (2 oz.)

  • Orange (1)

  • Plastic syringes

Directions

  • Puree raspberries and strain to remove pulp. Discard the seeds.

  • Add puree to saucepan with sugar and cook over medium-low heat. Stir frequently for approximately 10 minutes, until the syrup is thick and dark. Let cool.

  • When cool, fill each syringe with .75 oz. of raspberry syrup. Set aside.

  • Fill a cocktail shaker with ice and add vodka and Licor 43. Shake until cold and add the Orangina (or a 1:3 ratio of orange juice and club soda). Stir well.

  • Pour into iced glasses and garnish with “bloody” syringes and a slice of orange. Serves 4.

Black Cloud Cocktail

Brought to us by the Food Network, the Black Cloud Cocktail is perfect for those stormy, dark Fall nights...you'll want to mix it up every weekend until Spring.

Ingredients

  • Blavod black vodka (2 oz.)

  • Orange liqueur (1 oz.)

  • Orange juice (1 cup)

  • Orange soda (1/2 cup)

  • Peppermint sticks (2)

  • Licorice wheels (2)

Directions

  • Add orange juice, soda and liqueur to small pitcher; stir well.

  • Pour into martini glasses.

  • Pour 1 oz. Blavod black vodka over the back of a teaspoon into each glass so that it forms a layer on top.

  • Garnish with a peppermint stick and licorice wheel. Serves 2.

Bleeding Heart Martini

One of Martha Stewart's creations, the Bleeding Heart Martini is simple, grown up and still super spooky.

Ingredients

  • Dry vermouth (2 oz.)

  • Gin (1 cup)

  • Pickled baby beets (4)

  • Cocktail skewers (4)

Directions

  • Chill martini glasses in the freezer until frosty.

  • Divide dry vermouth evenly between glasses and swirl to coat. Pour it out.

  • Fill a cocktail shaker with ice and add gin; Shake vigorously.

  • Divide gin evenly between glasses. Garnish each with a pickled baby beet placed on a cocktail skewer. Serves 4.
