Web Design Trends to Watch For in the City

As 2015 progresses, the city of Toronto is warming up and businesses will soon be busier than ever. What better time for a redesign? If you're looking to give your little corner of the Web a makeover, the following trends are ones to keep in mind for staying fresh, interesting and relevant.

Custom Photography

What's better than custom photography? Not much! Though many websites still rely on stock photos, as time progresses many designers and their clients are opting for personalized images that suit a site's needs and purpose. Highly unique, custom photos are a great way to show off your business in a way that only you can.

Bright and Bold

A great way to stand out, bright and bold design is making a name for itself in 2015. A vibrant, striking combination of colour, large typefaces, lighting, motion, responsiveness and more, it many times mimics the experience and appearance of paper and ink. A current example generating attention in the design world is Google's Material theme (http://www.google.com/design/spec/style/color.html).

Hidden Navigation

Hidden navigation is a great way to reduce clutter and lend a clean, minimalist look to web pages. Today, many sites are hiding their main menus, revealing them with a click or a hover of the mouse. Commonly seen in responsive design for small viewports such as tablets and smartphones, this clean and functional approach is now carrying over to desktop. Check out Yabsta Global's recent redesign to see it in action.
