In recent years music festivals have been all the rage and 2015 is no different! The upcoming warm months in the city are going to be jam-packed with great bands, food, experiences and more. Read on to find out which festivals you're gonna want to buy tickets for ASAP.
Canadian Music Week
Running from May 1st to 10th, Canadian Music Week (CMW) is a great way to kick off the summer. It is held across a range of venues in the city and headliners include Death Cab for Cutie, Keisza, Magic! and Lights. Throughout the week, there will also be events, awards, comedy, conferences, a tradeshow and more. Visit the website here.
Scheduled for early June, the weekend of the 6th to 7th, Field Trip is held at Fort York Garrison Common. Featuring Marina & The Diamonds, Alabama Shakes, Arkells, Purity Ring and more, this community music and arts festival is also home to a Mess Hall, Day Camp, comedy and a range of other interesting activities. The North American edition of one of the U.K.'s most popular festivals, Bestival is going to see acts like Florence and the Machine, Jamie XX, Born Ruffians, Nas, Caribou and more. Happening on the Toronto Islands from June 12th to 15th, the festival is 16+. Check it out.
The city's top electronic music festival, Digital Dreams is happening from June 27th to 28th at The Flats at Ontario Place. Guests like Zedd, Carl Cox, Armin Von Burren and many more are sure to draw a huge crowd. If you love EDM , this is the event for you.
New on the festival scene, WayHome will see Kendrick Lamar, Neil Young, Passion Pit, July Talk, Sam Smith and many more gathering for an exciting weekend at Burl's Creek Event Grounds in Oro-Mendonte. Running from July 24th to 26th, it is Canada's version of Bonnaroo. Guests are able to camp overnight with passes, making this a great two-for-one option for those who love the outdoors.
