Victoria Day Weekend is Almost Here...Here's What To Do in Toronto


“May 2-4” is almost here! An iconic date in celebrating the summer to come, the city of Toronto is offering a wide range of activities for residents and visitors of all ages. If you can't make it out to the cottage or the beach, there's guaranteed to be a great local event to hit up. Read on to find out what's happening.


Fiddles at the Fort

On Saturday, May 16th, visit Fort York for a free “Around-the-World Jam!” Skilled cello, bass, violin and viola players are gathering to perform a stunning selection of 40 songs from 25 countries. A celebration of World Fiddle Day, there will also be workshops, a community jam and more. It will run from 10am to 6pm.


Electric Island

Hanlan's Point in the Toronto Islands will be hosting Electric Island on Monday, May 18th beginning at 1pm. Tickets range in cost from $44.65 to $72.89 and a number of skilled artists and musicians will be performing this 19+ event, including Tom Trago, Steve Lawler, Pan Pot, Tuskegee and more.


Bubble BallFest 

A fun and hilarious new game, bubble ball involves playing soccer while running within an oversized inflatable bubble! An exciting activity for the whole family, it's safe to smash and crash. Bubble BallFest 2015 is being held at Crawford Academy on Monday, May 18th from 10am to 6pm. Stop by to watch for $5 or play for $20. Refreshments will be sold and all proceeds will go to support Toronto's Humanitarian Project “Build for Belize.”


Contact Photography Festival

Running throughout the month of May, a visit to the Contact Photography Festival makes a great long weekend excursion. Incredibly, over 1,500 Canadian and international photographers will be showing their work throughout the Greater Toronto Area at many well-loved venues. The festival will be hosting a great range of events as well, many of which are free.


Enthusiast Gaming Live

A convention designed for Toronto's enthusiastic gaming community, Enthusiast Gaming Live is being held at the International Centre from Saturday, May 16th to Sunday, May 17th. Open from 10am to 10pm each day, the event will feature gaming on huge screens, cosplay, musical entertainment, a Marketplace, a LAN party, eSports tournaments, cash prizes and more. Don't miss it! Tickets cost $35 for adults, $10 for youth and children and kids under 5 are free.
